Dr. P. Vermeulen is in Nederland als arts ingeschreven in het BIG-register en is in Belgie geregistreerd als Plastisch Chirurg. Hij kreeg zijn opleiding als arts en plastisch chirurg aan de KU in Leuven. Hij specialiseerde zich nadien bij dr. Vandermeulen in het Erasmus ziekenhuis in Rotterdam; bij Prof. Deraemacker in het Bordetinstituut in Brussel en bij dr. P. Tonnard en dr. A. Verpaele aan het Coupure centrum in Gent in de herstellende en esthetische aangezichtschirurgie. De belangrijkste interesses van dr. P. Vermeulen situeren zich echter in de esthetische genitale chirurgie. Hiervoor zocht hij een bijkomende opleiding bij dr. G. Alter in Beverly Hills, Californië. In dit domein voert dr. P. Vermeulen schaamlipverkleiningen uit volgens de V-techniek, aanpassingen van de clitoris (huidoverschot rond de clitoris, clitorisreductie, clitoropexie) en secundaire chirurgie van de schaamlippen na eerdere correcties. Ook liposuctie van vetophopingen aan de venusheuvel of vetinjecties van de grote schaamlippen worden uitgevoerd.
Bij mannen worden peniscorrecties en micro penis -chirurgie uitgevoerd. Eveneens heeft dr. P. Vermeulen een bijzondere interesse in huidcorrecties van buik en borsten na zwangerschap, zowel door middel van chirurgische als niet-chirurgische methoden.
